In order to identify variables obtained at admission that could be used to predict survival in septicemic foals, medical records of 65 foals diagnosed with septicemia were reviewed. Initially, variables were analyzed independently (univariate analysis) for association with survival. Of the physical examination and historical data examined using univariate analysis, the ability to stand at admission, respiratory rate ≥ 60 breaths per minute (bpm), and normal-appearing mucous membranes were significantly associated with survival. Foals with history of induced parturition were significantly less likely to survive. The following hematologic and serum biochemical variables determined at admission were significantly associated with survival: white blood cell count a 6,000 cells/μL, neutrophil count <4,000 cells/μL, serum albumin concentration <2.2 g/dL, serum glucose concentration <120 mg/ dL, blood pH ≥ 7.35, and positive base excess. The administration of plasma at admission was significantly associated with survival. Stepwise multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the association between survival and variables identified as significantly associated with survival in bivariate analysis. The final multivariate model selected included the variables standing, duration of clinical signs (24-hour intervals) prior to admission, respiratory rate a 60 bpm, neutropenia (> 4,000 cells/μL), and neonatal age category. The probability of survival was significantly increased for foals that were standing, had a respiratory rate a 60 bpm, and that had a neutrophil count <4,000 cells/μL at admission. Probability of survival was significantly decreased for foals that had a longer duration of clinical signs prior to admission. Thirty adult, client-owned dogs were diagnosed with hypothyroidism based on history, physical examination findings, hematologic and biochemical abnormalities, thyrotropin (TSH) response testing, endogenous canine thyrotropin (cTSH) concentration, or both, and total serum thryoxine concentration. All dogs received levothyroxine (L-thyroxine) at an initial dose of 22 μg/kg PO sid in either a tablet (13 dogs) or chewable form (17 dogs). Energy expenditure of each dog during apparent rest was estimated with an open-flow indirect calorimetry system by determining the rates of carbon dioxide production and oxygen consumption. Energy expenditure of apparent rest (EE) was lower in untreated hypothyroid dogs compared with reference values for EE. In order to establish epidemiological cut-off values (ECOFFs) of Salmonella for three animal-specific antibiotics (florfenicol,apramycin and danofloxacin) in Guangdong province.A total of 166 strains of Salmonella isolates from chicken intestinal tract from veterinary clinics and farms in Guangdong province in 2017 were recruited in this study,the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of florfenicol,apramycin and danofloxacin were determined in triplicate for each bacterial strain using the agar dilution method on Mueller-Hinton agar plates according to the CLSI reference method (CLSI-M100-S26).ECOFFs were calculated for the MIC data sets by application of nonlinear regression analysis,NRI(normalized resistance interpretation) and ECOFFinder software.MIC distribution of florfenicol,apramycin and danofloxacin against Salmonella from 2 to >512,4 to >512 and 0.015 to 64 μg/mL,respectively.MIC50 and MIC90 for apramycin,florfenicol and danofloxacin were 256 and >512,16 and >512,0.5 and 16 μg/mL,respectively.MIC distribution of apramycin and florfenicol presented obvious unimodal shape,while that of danofloxacin was a discontinuous multi-peak.The ECOFFs of florfenicol,apramycin and danofloxacin were recommended to be 16,16 and 0.125 μg/mL,respectively.In present study,the ECOFFs of Salmonella from chicken intestinal tract for apramycin,florfenicol and danofloxacin were determined,which provided scientific basis for resistance surveillance. 相似文献

对比橄榄(Canarium album)原浊汁及真空浓缩、冷冻浓缩、常压浓缩后的还原汁的感官指标、褐变度、悬浮稳定性及其主要成分(总酸、总糖、维生素C、多酚)含量,结果表明:真空浓缩的橄榄汁风味、色泽和主要成分的保留情况稍差于冷冻浓缩,但悬浮稳定性更佳;3种浓缩工艺中常压浓缩使橄榄浊汁品质下降最大.此外,随真空浓缩程度的提高,橄榄浊汁清除DPPH·自由基能力无明显影响,而清除羟自由基能力和总抗氧化能力呈先下降后上升,最后复而下降的趋势,这均与浓缩过程中维生素C和多酚类物质含量变化有关. 相似文献
